Yellowstone Trekking
Frequently Asked Questions
We will send you detailed information about the tour in a
Pre-Departure Packet once you register.
What is the weather going to be like?
The average high
temperature in Yellowstone at this time of year is 61 degrees
Fahrenheit while the nightime lows can drop below freezing. So, be
prepared for nice hiking days and cold nights. It is even
possible we will have snow. This is a
fantastic
time to be in the area since the animals are active, the bugs are not,
and the hotsprings are that much more pleasant when the temps are low.
What is the best way to get to the tour and where do we meet?
We meet in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, which has its own airport. Because we
meet early in the morning, you will need to arrive the day before.
We'll provide some hotel recommendations for you in our Pre-Departure
Packet after you book the tour.
What should I do if I want to extend my vacation in the area?
Jackson Hole itself is worth spending one or two days. For more time
than that, you will definitely want to rent a car to
explore Grand
Teton National Park or other areas of Yellowstone. Also in the area is
the fun
town of Bozeman.
What ability level do I really need to be for this Adventure?
This Adventure is rated as Moderate.
The hiking can be strenuous for some people, although we are not at
great altitude, the route is fairly flat, and we are not carrying
packs. Anyone of moderate fitness
will be able to complete this trek.
For what type of people would you recommend this Adventure?
This trip is fantastic if you have always wanted to hike in the
backcountry - especially in Yellowstone - but never had the opportunity
or knew how to go about it. It is also perfect if you have an interest
in Western cowboy traditions, fishing, or geothermal features.
