If you are considering one of our Trekking Adventures, you first need to know our definition of trekking: "multiday hikes without carrying your own gear". This is important, because our Trekking Adventures allow you to reach incredible places but not be burdened with 50-pound packs trying to get there.
The means of moving our gear varies by location. In Peru, we have local porters. In Yellowstone we use horses. In Tibet, we round up yaks from the nearby villages. (Well, we hire the local villagers to round up yaks.) In Patagonia we use Zodiac boats.
You carry only what you need for the day: snacks, water, and extra clothing. We generally sleep in tents on these trips (in Patagonia we use mountain refugios) but this is luxury camping. Our staff sets up our tents, cooks delicious meals for us, and cleans up afterwards. Plus, we always start and end our trips with a fantastic local hotel. This is how trekking should be.
We've picked four of the best places in the world for trekking. You can't go wrong no matter which you choose. And if our dates don't work for you, consider our Private Trek option.
